What is Zefr?

Zefr is a brand suitability platform that helps marketers safely navigate video and social feeds. Founded in 2009 (originally as Movieclips) and headquartered in Los Angeles, it uses a patented AI engine to classify content across video, audio, imagery, text and metadata for deep video understanding. The platform provides independent, video-level measurement of the content running adjacent to ads, mapped to the GARM (now 4A's) brand safety and suitability framework.

How Zefr works with TikTok

Zefr partnered with TikTok in January 2022 to deliver post-bid brand safety and suitability measurement for in-feed ads. Its AI engine reviews the organic content surrounding a brand's TikTok ads and scores adjacencies against GARM floor, high, medium and low risk categories, with results delivered through a daily-updating dashboard. Zefr has since expanded coverage to additional TikTok formats and placements including Search, TikTok Lite, and GMV Max, along with viewability and invalid traffic (IVT) measurement.
